FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often.

What is GEO?

Generative Engine Optimization is the work of making a brand visible and well described in the answers of AI assistants. It builds on SEO: the assistants search the web and quote the pages they can read and trust. GEO adds the work on the sources they rely on and on how your content answers the questions people ask.

Which AI assistants does Poliris analyze?

Through their public web interface: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview. Through their API, on paid plans: models from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic (Claude), xAI (Grok) and Mistral. See Models you can question.

How is visibility measured?

Poliris asks the AI models the questions your customers ask, without naming your brand, and shows how often your brand appears in the answers, topic by topic and model by model, next to your competitors. See the Visibility tab.

How is sentiment measured?

Each answer that mentions your brand is labeled positive, neutral or negative. The Sentiment tab shows the result per topic and per model, next to your competitors.

Why do my scores change between two runs?

AI assistants do not always give the same answer to the same question, and their sources change. A single run is a snapshot: compare several runs, or schedule the analysis to run regularly, before drawing conclusions. Using more prompts also makes the scores steadier.

How long does an analysis take?

An AI visibility analysis usually takes a few minutes. A technical audit depends on the number of pages: a few minutes for 100 pages, longer for thousands. You can leave the page while it runs.

How many prompts should I use?

Onboarding runs 5 to 10. On a paid plan, Poliris writes 20 questions per audit and pre-selects 10; you keep at least 5 and can add your own, on 2 to 4 models. More prompts give steadier scores and cost more credits: the setup panel shows the cost before you start.

Which countries and languages are covered?

Any country or region can be a trading zone. Questions are written in the language you choose for the zone. The interface is available in English and French.

Can I choose the competitors?

Not yet. Poliris finds your competitors in the AI answers and follows the five most important ones in every ranking.

Can an agency manage several brands?

Yes. Create one project per brand in your workspace and give each team member access to the projects they work on. All projects share the credits of the workspace.

Does Poliris change my website?

Not by itself. Poliris reads your public pages. It changes something only when you connect the site (SEO pixel, WordPress or Webflow) and apply a fix yourself. Access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics is read-only.

Is my data safe?

The application servers and the database are hosted in the European Union. Some providers, such as the AI model providers, are outside the EU and covered by standard contractual clauses. Poliris does not use your data, conversations or Google data to train its own AI models, and never sells data coming from Google. Access to your Google data is read-only and is removed when you disconnect. A data processing agreement is available on request. See our privacy policy for the details.

What happens when I run out of credits?

An AI visibility analysis needs at least 100 credits to start, and a technical audit needs enough credits for its pages. Below that, these actions show a padlock and scheduled analyses are skipped. Credits come back at your next monthly renewal, or immediately if you move to a larger plan.

How do I cancel?

The workspace Owner opens Workspace settings › Billing › Manage Billing and cancels in the Stripe portal. The workspace then goes back to the Free plan; your projects and past audits stay available.
